Hand sculpted leather mask. A majestic costume for a masquerade ball, Wiccan Equinox ceremony, fairy or Renaissance festival.

Deep forest green leaves tipped with fall russet red. A glint of gold and copper for a magical touch.

"Greenman" is a traditional name. This mask will fit a man or a woman.

Sculpted from 4-5 oz oak tanned leather.
Leaf veins are hand carved into the leather.

The fully adjustable elastic cord strap is comfortable and discreet. Slide the slip knots up or down cord to adjust the size.

Signed, dated original.

This mask is lightweight, durable, and comfortable. It is sealed with a non-toxic varnish.

This is going to be submitted into the contest: "The Feeling of Autumn" hosted by #Beyond-borders, #Intermediate-Artists, #RisingArtists, and #feel-art.

How do you get these to hold their shape? Is there some kind of process involved?

Yes, it is a specific technique and a specific material used. You need vegetable tanned aka oak tanned leather in 3/4 or 4/5 oz. You dip it in water. When the leather is 1/2 way between wet and dry you can sculpt it into amazing shapes. After painting I varnish the masks to protect the paint and the shape.

I teach classes in this technique, visit RavenwoodMasks.com for more info: [link]
